Athletes with Disabilities

Athletes of all abilities are welcome at our Start Line.

We’re proud to announce a multi-year partnership with the Woody Foundation for the Athletes With Disabilities Program!

The Woody Foundation (TWF) is the official Athletes with Disabilities (AWD) program partner for Life Time Miami Marathon & Half, with special attention aimed at supporting the event’s wheelchair endurance athletes. The Woody Foundation’s overall mission is to enhance the quality of life for those living with paralysis.

“As both a board member of TeamTWF and a runner, it brings me great joy that our foundation and our premier local marathon can elevate the race-day performance and experience for all athletes. Being based in Miami, we are personally invested in the health and wellness of our shared endurance community and want others to recognize this race’s accessibility, and of course just how fun it is to participate” said Lucy Foerster, Executive Director of TeamTWF.

The multi-year partnership is committed to increasing the purse prize annually until there is zero disparity across divisions. TeamTWF will also offer race stipend grants alongside the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), requests for which can be submitted to TeamTWF directly. Finally, and because it is Miami where we know how to p-a-r-t-y, TeamTWF be enhancing the post-race experience for the AWD’s with a finish festival celebration!
